Program Description:
Participants will listen to a review of the current literature on strategies to avoid prescribing unnecessary antibiotics and then have an opportunity to discuss challenging clinical scenarios and strategies for improvement.

Learning Objectives: 

1. Recognize the clinical criteria for diagnosing acute bacterial rhinosynovitis (aka: bacterial sinusitis).
2. Explain the concept of a “Watch and Wait Prescription” for acute otitis media.
  3. Explain when it is and is not appropriate to use antibiotics for dental pain.

Target Audience: 
Physicians and mid-level providers in any specialty, but specifically those in diagnostic specialties including primary care, internal medicine, pediatrics, critical care and emergency medicine. Quality professionals would also find this content useful.
